Baza w Vilseck // Vilseck Army Base

Tym razem nocowałem w bazie Vilseck (15-20 minut drogi od Grafenwoehr), bo nie było miejsc w hotelu w Graf.
Baza sporo mniejsza, mieści kilka batalionów piechoty z pewnej Stryker Brigade.
Zamiast 3 salonów samochodowych i giga-PX +restauracji, ma małego PX-a, jeden salon, Burger Kinga i Subway.
O wiele więcej domków jedno rodzinnych, szkoła, przedszkole etc...
Ogólnie, małe przytulne miejsce.

Jedyne zaskoczenie (tego nie było w Graf), to rankiem o 0630hrs obudził mnie ryk cadence'u (piosenek marszowych/biegowych), z kolejnych plutonów i kompanii robiących PT rankiem. W Graf robili to gdzieś daleko na bieżni, tutaj po prostu biegali po ulicach.

This time I stayed in Vilseck (15-20 minutes driving from Graf), cause there were no free rooms at the hotel in Graf.
THe base is much smaller than Graf, it has a few batt's from a Stryker brigade.
Instead of the huge PX, 3 car saloons, tons of restaurants, it has a small PX, a Burger King and a Subway.
Much more small detached houses, schools, kindergartens.
Generally a nicer, smaller, quieter place.

One thing that surprised me, (didn't happen at Graf), was that PT was done at around 0630hrs on the streets between the building. At Graf they did it much further, on the track. So I got awakened by the roar of cadence being sung by a lot of platoons and companies moving through the streets. :)
